Background
I was working with a company on setting up a project management system, the selected tool was dotProject. dotProject is an open source PM tool, one of the few complete one's out there. It has a wide (from what I can tell) user base - but compared to some of the commercial software (SmartSheet, QuickBase, etc.) it really didn't compare...but it was free and had potential. So, in talking with the owner of the company - a very pro-open source person (morals do count), I decided to take a shot at 'cleaning up' dotProject. This lead to IT Project Guide Project Management. For the most part I removed a LOT of code and simplified the interface as much as possible. I got to a point where I had to make the typical maintenance programmer's decision of continuing with some 'interesting' code and design or rewritting from scratch, I took the path of rewritting which lead to IT Project Guide - Risk Management.

Installing and feedback
Each product page and product download provides some level of installation instructions. You will need a LAMP based server (internal or hosted) with php 4 or 5 installed, MySQL 4 or 5 installed and access to ftp. About IT Project Guide Products
I'm not looking to sell (never been a good sales person - in some ways this is unfortunate), but I am working on two open source products, both focused on Project Management:
- IT Project Guide - PM - based on dotProject/web2Project with my contribution being one to simplify and increase usability
- IT Project Guide - RM - a rewrite of IT Project Guide PM with the focus being set high on total project management needs (not just task management) and ease of use.
